novel online service ("we", "us", "our") operates novelonlineservice.com as an authorised channel partner / reseller of the CCA-licensed Certifying Authorities Care4Sign and eMudhra. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how we protect it. It is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
1. Information we collect
- Enquiry & partner forms: name, business name, email address, phone number, city/state and the message you send us.
- DSC application form: applicant name, date of birth, email, mobile number, PAN, Aadhaar number, organisation details (name, type, GST/IEC particulars) and the documents you upload — PAN card, Aadhaar card, passport-size photograph, partnership deed, board resolution, authorisation letter, GST and IEC certificates, as applicable to the certificate you choose.
- We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which may log standard technical data (such as your IP address) when your browser fetches them.
2. Why we collect it
- To process your Digital Signature Certificate application with the relevant CCA-licensed Certifying Authority, including identity verification, eKYC and video verification required under CCA guidelines.
- To respond to your enquiries, provide quotes, and manage renewals and support.
- To evaluate partner/reseller applications.
- To comply with legal obligations, including record-keeping mandated by the CCA, income tax and GST law.
3. Who we share it with
- Certifying Authorities (Care4Sign / eMudhra) — your application details and KYC documents are shared with the CA issuing your certificate. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies and CCA regulations.
- Service providers — our website forms are processed by Netlify (our hosting provider); submissions are transferred to our internal systems and then removed from the hosting platform.
- We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone.
4. How we protect and retain it
- The website is served over HTTPS; Aadhaar numbers are masked at entry on our forms.
- Application data is moved to our internal systems and retained only as long as needed to provide services and meet legal record-keeping requirements, after which it is deleted.
- Access to customer data is restricted to staff who need it to process your application.
5. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent for processing that is based on consent (note that we cannot process a DSC application without the data the CA mandates).
